Overlapping in attack
When you see a good passing move it's always disappointing when it ends because the player with the ball has run out of team mates to pass to. If no one is moving to support the attackers after the ball has been passed, the attackers will have no passing options if their route to goal is blocked.
When you are coaching, you must emphasize the importance of providing support. At both 7-a-side and 11-a-side it is a tactic that works well and is difficult to defend against.
Use this overlapping exercise as a starting point and encourage your players to experiment during matches. They might get it wrong at first, but it gives them the opportunity to learn and the team will benefit in the long term.
